Augie & I were both born in New Jersey., When we got married, we lived at the Jersey shore, then moved to Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, then to Reno, Nevada where we lived for 38+ years, then finally retired in Arizona. I worked in Information Technology for 50+ years, and Augie worked in Distribution. We both had busy, stressful jobs, but always found time to travel together! Because traveling was my favorite thing to do, I became a part-time home travel agent so I could learn how to get the most out of our vacations away from work, and I fell in love with wonderful world we live in and keep wanting to see more. I have been a certified travel agent (registered with vendors so I can control my bookings) since 2008, and my husband and I have been exploring the world together for the last 49 years. We are still working on our ever-growing bucket list—every time we discover something new or exciting, we add it, so I doubt we’ll ever finish! We have traveled around most of the world enjoying cruises, cruise tours, river cruises, trains, buses, and land and sea tours. We have also been fortunate to take several Adventures by Disney—which are our favorites—though their high prices mean we must limit them. My preferences are long or back-to-back Cruises with Cruise tours and transatlantic cruises to/from Europe, Asia, Australia, North America, and Africa. Norwegian & Royal Caribbean are my 1st choices, and even though I am certified with the majority of cruise lines, I have not had the chance to try them all. We have also taken and booked numerous land tours with Globus, Trafalgar, Perillo, and Adventures by Disney. They are all wonderful as you get to be up-close in every city, and you are usually accompanied with a tour guide(s) that's there for you during your entire adventure. Downside? You are packing and unpacking a lot!
Our adventures so far have been amazing! Augie & I have walked the wall in China (amazing experience as the wall is very old and steps are cracked and extremely uneven, but someone always lent me a helping hand and I never even asked for one),. We spent Easter at Disney's Seas in Japan (my favorite Disney Park so far), visited the Zian warriors in China, ziplined in Costa Rica and several places in the Caribbean, parasailed in Labadee, Haiti, rode a bobsled in Jamaica, climbed the Leaning Tower, visited the Sistine Chapel before, during and after it was renovated, ate a $12 hamburger at the American Café in Rome in 1985, stood on Juliet's balcony in Verona looking for my Romeo (Augie), took a rope tow up the side of mountain to have an ice cream cone while overlooking the Isle of Capri, walked the Colosseum by flashlight, visited a Bedouin village in Dubai where they had an amazing buffet and we got to taste camel meat and join their native dance, spent a day sunbathing in QATAR (a magical Oasis), visited Singapore several times and enjoyed the Garden by the Bay and the fabulous light show and amazing Sands Casino (featured in the move "Crazy, Rich Asians", swam in the Mediterranean, the Red sea and in Malta, rode a wicker wine cart down a steep hill in Madeira, saw the Last Supper painted on a garage wall in Milan (amazing), took a Gondola ride in Venice, rode a Cogwheel train in Switzerland, rode camels in Cabo, New Mexico, Dubai and Tunisia, did a 'doors off' helicopter ride in Kauai, spent two glorious days in Egypt overlooking the Nile river, then took a balloon ride over Luxor, Our favorite destination is Italy. We have been there numerous times on cruises & land tours, and we never tire of it, but one adventure that is on still our bucket list is a Safari in Africa (Hopefully sometime soon).
We also travel within the US. My favorite places are New York City (where I also worked for several years, Indiana, where we went to the Indie 500 (which was amazing), Hawaii, (all islands but my favorites are Kona & Honolulu), Washington D.C. during Cherry blossom time, Florida (especially love Disney World, Cape Canaveral (where we watched a few space capsules launch from the side of the road), Atlanta, (went to the Summer Olympics and saw Andre Agasi stop his serve to bring an observer a towel after a gaggle of geese flew overhead, LOL), New Orleans (another favorite as it is exciting, interesting, great food, always soemthing to see & do-My kind of vacation), Las Vegas (love the casino, shows, restaurants, and especially the people), California (especially San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego) and especially Napa & the wine country. We even went to Safari West in Sonoma, where we stayed in a tent overnight, took a Safari, and had a wonderful time. Our most recent find is San Antonio, Texas. I am obsessed with the San Antonio Riverwalk, the parades, the food, the entertainment, and the people & culture! We own several timeshare with Wyndham, and spend time traveling with our friends and family. We are also Disney Club Members, and I am a certified travel agent with them. I was fortunate enough to spend a week at Disney World in their Travel Agent training classes (stayed at the Polynesian), and learned so much about the "Magical World of Disney", and we have also been on several Disney cruises with our friends when their families were younger! Disney sets the bar very high, and we both enjoy them no matter how old we get! What's up for 2026? We are planning to visit San Antonio in the spring, Visit Kona & Honolulu with my brother & sister-in-law. I am taking Augie to Palm Springs for his birthday! Going on a 21-day cruse from Athens to Dubai, Greece, Qatar, Jordan and Egypt. Booked on another Norwegian Cruise tour from Athens to Istanbul with the Buono-Rickman family. Visiting Margaritaville, Desert Blue in LV, then going back to San Antonio again. Then, we are going on a Norwegian 16-day transatlantic cruise from Barcelona to Orlando. We are closing 2026 by spending a week after Christmas in Kona with our BFFs and our favorite travel partners! (we have been traveling with them for 20+ years and always had a wonderful time).. As you can see, we are still traveling, so who knows where our next adventure will take us!
